This website provides information about the Legislative Correspondents Association, the group of news reporters assigned to cover New York State government in Albany, New York.

The historic LCA Press Room is open to the public and is located on the third floor of the Capitol between the Senate and Assembly chambers. Visitors are asked to respect the fact it is a workplace and to refrain from removing press releases or other materials distributed on the Shelf for the use of LCA members. Please look at the Questions? FAQ section for additional contact information.

Since 1900, the LCA has produced an annual show and dinner with the governor as the guest of honor. The dinner began to honor Governor Theodore Roosevelt and has been held since then each spring without interruption.

The 2011 show was at the Empire State Plaza Convention Center in May, with rebuttals by Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos and Senators Jeff Klein and Diane Savino.

Here is a number from the 2010 show -- the late, great Jay Gallagher of Gannett newspapers playing then-Lt. Gov. Dick Ravitch and singing about the budget.

The 111th LCA show was held on Saturday, May 7, 2011 in the Empire State Plaza Convention Center. Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos, Senator Jeff Klein and Senator Diane Savino delivered rebuttals.
